Sex Pistols' 'Bollocks' Hits iTunes; Weezer's Cuomo Collects Demos for 'Alone'

First it was the confirmed reunion, then the rehashing of old tunes, next the speculated fresh material, and even a stateside gig. And now legendary punk rockers Sex Pistols have announced yet another belt notch in the name of the 30th anniversary of Never Mind the Bollocks; the seminal set will hit the digital realm. Yep, that's right, today the landmark record will be available digitally in the U.S for the first time ever via iTunes. What's more is that fans can also download the band's fresh interpretations of tunes like "Anarchy in the U.K." and "Pretty Vacant," which were tracked for Guitar Hero. If that doesn't sate your jones for frontman Johnny Rotten – featured in Spin's special October issue on 1977, the year punk exploded – and his raucous crew, tune into The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Oct. 30 and The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson Oct. 31, during which Sex Pistols will perform.

Weezer's Cuomo Collects Demos for 'Alone'

Now that Rivers Cuomo, frontman of geekazoid power-pop outfit Weezer, has championed the ivy leagues, he can afford to shed the books for a few moments of retrospect and nostalgia, which appear to have motivated the bespectacled rocker to compile Alone - The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, a set of personal demos from 1992-2007, slated to drop Dec. 11 via Geffen. The recordings, originally scheduled to arrive alongside a book, will now preface the tome's release, but by how long, only Cuomo knows. "Ultimately, I feel that the music and the literary materials will be better served if developed and presented separately," Cuomo wrote to what appears to be his personal MySpace page. "The book is now going to come out at a much later date -- a year? Two years? Three years? I don't know. It's going to be very cool, though. I'm digging what I've already got (nearly 400 pages) and I'm enjoying the process of writing and researching." In addition, Cuomo's MySpace post, albeit vague, offers promise towards a forthcoming Weezer release, calling the band's development "also extremely great." U2 to Construct Dublin Skyscraper, Hanging Recording Studio

In an attempt to further solidify their status as the biggest band in, well, at least their homeland, U2 will construct the largest building in Ireland. According to U.K. paper Telegraph, the band -- Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen -- will team up with Lord Foster, the architect behind London's Gherkin tower, for the £140 million (roughly $286 million) project, which will begin work next year. And just in case the quartet runs out of space to record their epic tunes, the building will feature an egg-shaped recording studio suspended from the top of a 600 ft. luxury apartment block, dangling beneath vertical wind turbines and solar panels, floating free from the construction, for (duh!) acoustic reasons.
