Secret Machines Guitarist Quits Band

Dallas, TX-bred and New York City-based trio Secret Machines have announced the departure of guitarist/vocalist Benjamin Curtis. On Saturday morning (March 3) Benjamin’s brother, frontman Brandon Curtis, confirmed Secret Machines’ efforts towards a third album and also revealed that the forthcoming record will not include Benjamin’s contributions. “Unfortunately, I also must share that after 7 and 1/2 years of playing music together, Benjamin has decided to no longer be a part of the band,” the post read.

Furthermore, the post claimed Benjamin’s departure stems from his desire to work full-time on “his new creative venture, School of Seven Bells.” Sisters Claudia and Alejandra Deheza, formerly of On!Air!Library!, join Curtis in School of Seven Bells, which, according to Brandon’s post, “expects to be finished with a new record very soon,” and plans “to play some shows here in New York debuting the band.”

The remaining members, vocalist/bassist/keyboardist Brandon Curtis and drummer Josh Garza, have not released any information regarding a replacement guitarist.
