Stream Ex-Harvey Danger Frontman Sean Nelson’s Springy ‘Born Without a Heart’

Sean Nelson

Sean Nelson, former frontman for Harvey Danger, may be best known for the now-defunct group’s deathless anti-anthem, “Flagpole Sitta.” Funny then that “Born Without a Heart,” the second single from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming solo debut album, is so concerned with mortality. “I know that we all die alone and afraid,” Nelson sings over springy, chiming melodies. “We might be soldiers on a long march to the grave.” Just when things seem hopeless, though, the Seattle tunesmith surprises with a last-minute fit of optimism, reminding us, “But we don’t have to live that way.”
