Scott Weiland’s Wildabouts Prep ‘Blaster’ Debut Album

Scott Weiland

Scott Weiland has some exciting news to share, and no, it doesn’t involve his criminal doppelgänger. The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman just announced that he and his new band, the Wildabouts, will release their first album — which is dubbed Blaster — on March 31 via Softdrive Records.

Discussing the new venture with Rolling Stone, Weiland called his new album “guitar-heavy” and “furry” — whatever that means — and confirmed that he wrote 11 of the 12 tracks himself. “Happy In Galoshes was an experimental art record, for the most part,” Weiland continued, referencing his 2008 solo album. “Blaster is definitely a band sound: a stripped-down, furry sound with a lot of space between the notes. But it’s tight and to-the-point while keeping that garage rock vibe to it,” he said.

In addition to the album news, Weiland and the Wildabouts also unleashed a list of tour dates. Check them out below.
