Scissors for Lefty Retro-a-Go-Go in “Ghetto Ways”

Although they hail from San Francisco, Scissors for Lefty is reviving the ways of inspired Brit-pop jams that better belong in underground digs overseas than the bayside hangouts of their hometown. After opening for acts ranging from the legendary Paul Weller to Arctic Monkeys and the Cribs, Scissors for Lefty are stepping out in stride. In “Ghetto Ways,” one of the snappy electro tracks featured on their acclaimed June release Underhanded Romance, the band has dusted off some Technicolor archives that resemble something between Dallas and Barbarella. Complete with swinging choreography, slicked back ‘dos, and cheating hearts on the run, this modern musical backdrop beckons idle bodies to the dance floor. Underhanded Romance is out now via Eenie Meanie.
