Sultry actress/singer Scarlett Johansson released a Tom Waits cover album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, and sang the femme fatale role on the Pete Yorn duet album Break Up. Now, she’s is ready to break out on her own, hinting that she may release a third album of all original tunes.

“I would love to do another album,” she told MTV. “I’m a huge music lover, music collector, listener and all those things… I like to do covers ’cause I feel like I’m in the shower. [But] I think I’d probably do original songs for sure.”

The actress, who appears in Iron Man 2 alongside Robert Downey Jr., also addressed rumors that Courtney Love wants her to play the Hole alt-rock queen and SPIN cover star in an upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic: “I know that there is a script. That’s as much as I know about it,” Johansson said. “I’m a big fan of Courtney’s and I think she’s very, very talented.”

“It would be a challenge, definitely would be a challenge,” Johansson added. “I think the idea is interesting and intriguing, but I would have to really wrap my head around it.”

Love’s manager Jonathan Daniel recently commented on the rumors to SPIN. “Courtney likes Scarlett Johansson as an actress and as a person, so it wouldn’t surprise me if she wanted her to play her.”
