Filtering several thousand competitors over eights weeks of battle, Spin magazine and Music Nation's online challenge in search of the next breakout rock act, the Hot Pursuit, has at long last reached the final round. Starting today (Dec. 11), Yorktown Heights, NY's the Scarlet, which Tim Kasher, judge and frontman of both the Cursive and the Good Life, says is "better that 98% of music out there today," will vie against Chicago's Victorian Halls, a theatrical outfit judge and alt-rocker Perry Farrell calls "punchy and tight."
Remember what's on the line: The winner will receive a record deal with Original Signal Recordings/Epic Records, a slot on the bill at Spin's always anticipated, always packed annual SXSW party at Stubb's in Austin, TX, and song inclusion on an upcoming 2K Sports video game.
Head over to spin.musicnation.com to check out each competitor's profile and help our judges pick the winners in the finals, and be sure to drop in next week and see if your band won!
