A few months back, Santigold guest-starred on an episode of NBC's The Office, playing a shrewd version of herself that was quick to throw shade at Ed Helms' Andy Bernard. Now, Santi White has returned to the small screen for another comedic role: Thursday night (August 29), the Master of My Make-Believe singer made an appearance on Adult Swim's brilliantly titled cop show parody NTSF:SD:SUV::. She played a member of the Time Angels, a time-traveling send-up of Charlie's Angels, acting alongside Eliza Dushku and Jayma Mays.
In the episode, the three ladies warp back to the Wild West to protect the future. Naturally, this involves Santigold going undercover as a saloon-dwelling prostitute. Going into any further detail would ruin the gag, so just check out the two quick clips collected above and below.
Fans should expect more film and television credits from Santigold in the future. The 36-year-old recently told HitFix that she's been taking acting lessons and has another job lined up. "I've been really looking into it, it's really nice to have a new thing to focus on and challenge myself," she added. "Having been on [tour] for two years straight, [it] was like being a kid again, or learning a new sport. I’m full of wonder."
As for music, Santi is reportedly eyeing a tentative 2014 release date for her next effort. "It is the most ambitious thing that I’ve ever done, musically," she said of the new project. "For me it’s taking things one step further than what I thought I was creating on stage this last time."
