As previously noted, Santigold reps hard for girls in her new song for the Girls show, "Girls." The just-out music video for the song adds one more lady layer to that equation by filming girls of all shapes, sizes, styles, and means singing along to the celebratory lyrics. The titular stars seem to be culled from all over New York City, shot on the street, in their offices, and even at an ice rink, where Santigold can be seen chanting along with the masses. She also appears in a bedroom flanked by a pair of youngins going ham for the benefit of a computer cam. Weird Days (Das Racist, Tanlines, Real Estate) directs.
Like we told you this morning, last night was a huge night for Girls, the HBO series, which not only dropped the first episode of its second season, but took home a pair of Golden Globe awards for Best TV Comedy and Best TV Actress (creator/star Lena Dunham). Santi's song hails from Girls – Volume 1: Music from the HBO Original Series, which came out last week and also features contributions from fun., Tegan and Sara, Fleet Foxes, Robyn, and others.
