S. Carey Worships a Summer ‘Supermoon’ On New EP

S. Carey

Natural phenomenons have a way of inspiring creativity, something that’s especially true for S. Carey, who recorded his new EP during an August supermoon. Filling the set with stripped-down, reimagined renditions of songs from his last two LPs (2010’s All We Grow and 2014’s Range of Light), a new title track, and a cover of Radiohead’s “Bullet Proof…I Wish I Was,” the meditative Wisconsin native (who also happens to be a drummer and backing vocalist for Bon Iver) spends the majority of Superpoon singing and harmonizing softly over sparse, rippling piano chords and the occasional swell of orchestral strings.

Though Supermoon will be out on vinyl and digital February 17 via Jagjaguwar (pre-order on iTunesAmazon, or SC Distribution), you can hear the entire thing now on Spotify. Listen below.
