RZA and the Black Keys Combine Funkily, Create ‘The Baddest Man Alive’

RZA's 'The Man With the Iron Fists'

Wu-Tang Clan mastermind RZA and Ohio blues-rockers the Black Keys have teamed up before, on a track from the Keys’ 2009 rap collaborative album BlakRoc. Now their reunion on “The Baddest Man Alive,” the opening track from RZA’s upcoming soundtrack to the upcoming martial arts movie he directed, The Man With the Iron Fists, has emerged via Fuse. As you might expect, it’s a murky blues-funk lurcher, with Dan Auerbach and Bobby Digital trading extravagantly blustery boasts. The track follows Wu-Tang’s “Six Directions of Boxing” from the soundtrack, which is due out on October 23 via Soul Temple Records/STAX/RED Distribution. The movie hits theaters on November 2. If “Baddest” is any guide, be sure to watch out for butt-naked rap legends jumping from the Empire State building.
