Summer camp is no longer for the adolescent set, as Ladies Rock Camp offers an instructional weekend-long program for adult women. Potential female rock stars will spend two days learning to either sing, play drums, bass, or guitar, or man DJ turntables. All funds raised from the program will benefit the non-profit, New York City-based Willie Mae Rock Camp for girls. "The camp is for women who've always wanted to be a rock star," Suzanne Grossman, a Rock Camp advisory board member, told Spin.com. "Women are excited about it because a lot of them wished they had an opportunity as a kid to play an instrument and they're supporting Rock Camp at the same time." Ladies Rock Camp takes place July 28-30 in Brooklyn, NY.
