Robyn will release the final part of her Body Talk trilogy later this fall - and the Swedish pop star has just offered up a first taste of the EP with a monster new tune "Indestructible." Check it out below, and head over to her Facebook page to hear three stretched-out remixes.
"Indestructible" - which Robyn produced with songwriting partner Klas Åhlund - was originally released as an orchestral ballad on Body Talk Pt. 2 but she's totally overhauled the track into a thrilling club-ready anthem. (She took a similar approach to revamping "Hang With Me" from a piano ballad into a disco-appropriate number.)
Robyn does what she does best on this track: marrying club hedonism (pulsing disco beats, glossy pop hooks) with personal lyrics about getting her heart trampled by a cad. "I never was smart with love," she sings over bright wooshing synths, cascading strings, and stutter-step pulse. "I let the bad ones in and the good ones go!"
In our upcoming November issue (available next week), SPIN catches up with Robyn to see why she walked away from pop stardom in the late-90s - and her recent resurgence to the top. Even Madonna weighs in with praise, telling SPIN:"I love her music. She's a great songwriter and a very cool girl."
Robyn returns to the U.S. for a tour in November. Dates below.
