Robin Thicke's surprise ascendance to the top of the pops in 2013 has — for obvious reasons — been pitted against the resurgence of Justin Timberlake, a fellow white singer who likes to dress up in suits and sing throwbacks to soul and funk music. But "Go Stupid 4 U," the newest track off Thicke's upcoming album Blurred Lines (you may have heard its single), recalls another white, male R&B singer who is also another Justin — that would be Bieber, of course. "Go Stupid 4 U," with light acoustic drumming and fat dance beats, bears a striking resemblance to Bieber's shuffling "Take You," from last year's Believe. No matter, though: The sound is more than good enough for two tracks.
