The web is abuzz today with a tabloid report that Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson will portray the late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain in an upcoming biopic, and that Courtney Love wants Scarlett Johansson to play her -- but that's news to Courtney Love's manager.
"That's an amazing story, and the first I've heard of any of this," Jonathan Daniel tells SPIN.com about The Sun's report. "They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check and include a 'My First Photoshop' job as a 'mock up' to boot!"
Daniel says the idea of this film was discussed before he began working with Love, and its working title is Heavier Than Heaven, not All Apologies, as The Sun reported. A production deal with Universal does exist, however.
And with regard to the purported casting: "Courtney likes Scarlett Johanssen as an actress and as a person, so it wouldn't surprise me if she wanted her to play her," Daniel says. "I'm not sure she knows who R Patz is, but he sure is cute."
The hubbub comes 16 years and a day after Cobain's body was discovered in his Seattle home.
Love, meanwhile, is back in action with her band, Hole, and their first album in over a decade, Nobody's Daughter, comes out April 23, and she's set for four shows that week in Los Angeles (April 22-23) and New York (April 27-28).

think about it does the actor really have to look exactly like him? no joe anderson may look more like him but robert pattinson could grab more attention causing newborn fans of nirvana which could be pretty cool maybe make more people fans of punk grunge and alternative rather than emotionless retarded hip hop and modern pop i mean who cares if robert pattinson can sing its a movie they can dub some other dudes voice during the singing parts and to MR.overrated "My only question is....would Kurt Cobain and Nirvana be worshipped like they are if he hadnt been a junkie and killed himself? They put out 1, count them, 1 good album..."Nevermind". The other albums were mediocre at best. I am not totaaly dissing the band Nirvana. I just get tired of hearing people talk about how great they are/were. Once he killed himself the band and Kurt grew to legendary status. If there is a ****ing God, Joe Anderson will play the role of Kurt Cobain. All the other candidates ****in suck.. Robert P doesnt look like him AT ALL, and I pretty much just dont like him. Joe Anderson seriously does look like him and anybody whose seen across the universe knows that he could sing. He can totally play Kurt!! Oh God, please..

Joe Anderson should play Curt Cobain they look like twins and not to mention Joe Anderson is better looking than Robert Pattinson and Macaulay Culkin does not looks nothing like Kurt Cobain. Robert Pattison should stick to his vampire roles...they suit him better.As for Michael Pitt...He would be a good choice but the better choice would be Joe Anderson. Joe Anderson would be much much better. Joe Anderson is perfect for this role!

Want to know the funny part? You claim that Nevermind was the only good Nirvana album...when in fact, Nevermind was the band member's least favorite album because it sounded too "clean" to them. You obviously don't understand what the music of Nirvana was all about.

dude, heavier than heaven is a movie based on a book that is from kurt's perspective shortly before he passed away, plus with courtney in the way of the murder conspiracy in the move(look it up people) there is no way in hell the movie will be good

Kelly Osbourne looks like early 90's PRE-SURGERY Courtney. ScarJo is indeed too short and too bigboobed. ( But anyway who cares abour Courtney?)
Joe Anderson is good. Jaret Letto too. But noone could play better Kurt than EWAN MACGREGOR! I only wish they'd made the movie when he was a bit younger...

Yes! I agree with the first commenter on this page! Macaulay Culkin would suit the part of Kurt Cobain 100,000 times better than Robert Pattinson! :) I can really picture Macaulay playing a good portrayal of Cobain, with his dark and mysterious personality that you can't make out with the way he dresses or how he wears his hair. He would capture the late, great Cobain's personality on camera way better than most of the male actors out there in the industry.

I would have never thought heath ledger could play the joker but he pulled it off and was great. If we discount people just because they don't fit the profile right off the bat then we will definitely have a crappy portrail. I just hope the people making the film have enough sence not to listen to Courtney or any oher Kurt Cobain worshipers.

NONONONONONONO!!! Who's lame-brained idea is it to stick Robbie in as Kurt when the only decent job he's had onscreen is playing Cedric? I love the "Twilight" books but he was always miscast as Edward. Keep it a stupid fluffy movie for tweens and cast Justin Bieber, otherwise find someone with real acting chops.

i agree, overrated. nirvana would probably not be considered legends today if Kurt Cobain hadn't killed himself, and therefore, an idea for a biopic like this probably wouldn't have ever existed. without Kurt's suicide, Nirvana would just be thought of as one of the several (yes, there were several) bands that helped pioneer the alternative rock boom of the 90s, and not legends who supposedly "changed the face of rock forever." seriously, i hear young people today talk about Nirvana like they were the Beatles of the 90s, even though they were only big for three short years during the early 90s (1991-1994), and weren't even as huge as people today claim they were back then. i even remember people talking about Nirvana like they were old news in '93, until the great In Utero came out later that same year. however, i will probably see this film because i do like Nirvana, and it will be interesting to see how Kurt Cobain is portrayed.

I can't answer for anyone else, but no. To me Kurts death had nothing to do with me enjoying their music. I think ultimately, his death may have increased popularity, but mainly because he became more of a person people could relate to and that was often expressed in his music. He wasn't just another artist, who sold themselves out for fame and suddenly his life was perfect, sex drugs and rock and roll. He still struggled. His death only enhanced this, and connected himself more with his music and fans.

I agree with the people saying Joe Anderson should play Kurt. Much as I liked seeing him in Twilight, he just doesn't have the right look, I don't even know if he can sing actually... Joe Anderson, however, can sing and looks like a younger Kurt. When I was watching Across the Universe, I even said to my friends that he looked just like him. His voice isn't too bad either. I think he could really do great at the role.

Of course Courtney would like to be remembered as attractive as Scarlet Jo is. We all are vain and narcissistic but dude...She is short, Court is really tall, she has massive boobs, Court got massive boobs after Kurt died when she got implants, she has enormous lips, Court got enormous( in various shapes and xxxl sizes) lips in late 90's early 00s, she has a certain type of nose, Court had about ten different nose shapes since the 90's . But oh well. If you pay you can be remembered as you like. It all about the dollar anyway.
