Rilo Kiley's Lewis Going Solo, Reliving Past

Superficially, Jenny Lewis had charmed childhood, appearing as the apple cheeked redhead in such '80s classics as Troop Beverly Hills and The Wizard. But on her upcoming solo debut, Rabbit Fur Coat, Lewis addresses the realities of her not-so-glossy upbringing replete with a drug-addled mother and financial difficulties. "It's difficult for me to remember, truthfully, certain details of my life," Lewis told MTV.com. "My memory is kind of like Swiss cheese -- it's got giant holes in it -- but a lot of [the title track off Rabbit] certainly feels true."

The album isn't all dysfunctional family woes: Lewis imports Death Cab's Ben Gibbard and Bright Eyes himself, Conor Oberst, to help her cover a Traveling Wilburys song, the 1989 classic "Handle with Care." Rabbit Fur Coat is set for a January 24 release on Oberst's Team Love label.
