Rihanna Performs First Concert Since Assault

Monday night in London, Rihanna performed her first solo concert since she was assaulted last February by then-boyfriend Chris Brown, marching onstage at the Brixton Academy to the banging beats of her new tune “Wait Your Turn” to proclaim: “The wait is ova / the wait is ova!” Indeed.

To celebrate her return to the stage, the Barbados-born pop diva brought along a few pals — Jay-Z and Young Jeezy! Sporting an eye patch and studded leotard, Rihanna, 21, traded vocals with Jeezy on “Hard,” a track off her November 23 release Rated R.

Hova saved his surprise cameo for the show’s encore, strutting onto the stage — which was decorated with static-y TVs and mannequins — to perform his Blueprint 3 collaboration with Rihanna, “Run This Town,” and guest on the songstress’ 2007 mega hit “Umbrella,” during which members of the audience held parasols aloft in the venue, BBC reports.

And the party continued well after Rihanna sang the concert’s final note, as she hit the town with friends to carouse at nightclub Mahiki. See photos of the scantily clad singer boozing it up, right here.

The London gig is just the latest in a busy run up to the release of Rated R — and Chris Brown isn’t far behind with his December 8 album, Graffiti. Both singers recently dropped new music videos and gave candid TV interviews revealing new details about the pre-Grammy brawl, which left Rihanna bruised and bloodied.
