Report: Aretha Franklin Battling Cancer + More

  • Legendary Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is battling pancreatic cancer, according to reports, although Franklin’s family has said the singer is doing “OK.” Last week, the singer underwent surgery for an undisclosed illness, and she is currently recovering from that procedure. [FOX 2 Detroit]

  • Beastie Boy Adam Yauch will premiere a short movie titled Fight For Your Right Revisited at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The movie stars Will Ferrell, Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, John C. Reilly, and Jack Black and is described as “after the boys leave the party,” suggesting it’s a sequel to the Beastie’s iconic video “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party).” [Vulture]
