Franz Ferdinand have announced details of a remix competition for "Ulysses," the first single off their forthcoming new album, the "hedonistic" Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, set for release in the U.S. January 27.

The album is being produced by Dan Carey, and it seems his affiliations with remix-happy electro-outfit Hot Chip may have rubbed off on the Franz boys. Takers of the challenge can buy remix stems of the song at Beatport.com, allowing them to create their own version and upload it to the site. Selected remixes will then be released digitally alongside the tune on January 19 [via NME.com].
