R.E.M.’s Mike Mills Waxes Nostalgic for Print News in ‘Stop the Presses’ Video

Mike Mills, R.E.M.

Comedy/music benefit compilation 2776 — a.k.a. the same group that enlisted celebrity help to raise money for OneKid One World — is back with a new video called “Stop the Presses,” which openly bemoans the fallen state of print journalism. On board to help raise awareness is R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, who sings on the track’s hook and earnestly plays the clarinet while Colton Dunn (Key & Peele), Zach Sherwin (Epic Rap Battles), and Brandon Johnson (Monsters University) name-drop funnies staples (“Calvin & Hobbes,” “Peanuts,” “Cathy”), among other retro references (Ann Landers!). Watch it above.
