R. Kelly Will Liberate New ‘Trapped in the Closet’ Chapters in 2014

R. Kelly will remain Trapped in the Closet through 2014. IFC has announced it will premiere new chapters of the R&B king’s epic hip-hopera at some point next year.

The cable network promises “more drama, more crazy situations, more tumultuous relationships, more Sylvester, more Pimp Lucius, more Reverend Mosely, more everything that you love about Trapped in the Closet.” Other details are scare, but the channel will air a marathon of the 33 (!!) previous installments on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 5:15 p.m. EST.

It’s surely no coincidence the Trapped in the Closet programming block arrives around the same time as R. Kelly’s Black Panties. The new album drops, in some cases with an actual pair of black panties, on December 10 via RCA. The entire 18-track set is currently streaming online, including previously shared tidbits “Genius,” “Cookie,” and the 2 Chainz-featuring “My Story.”

To catch up on Kellz’s recent TV appearances, watch his performance with Lady Gaga on the 2013 American Music Awards and see him simulate sex with Mother Monster on Saturday Night Live. For a refresher on Trapped in the Closet (it has been eight years since the self-parodying saga first started in 2005), watch every single chapter on IFC’s website or catch the marathon happening on December 7. And keep holding out hope for that Trapped in the Closet book.
