Hear Quilt’s Lockstep Psych Groove ‘Tie Up the Tides’

quilt, held in splendor, tie up the tides

Quilt have already pulled the curtain back on two songs from their must-hear sophomore album, the upcoming Held in Splendor. Now the Best New Artist-honored trio have followed “Arctic Shark” and “Tired & Buttered” with a third psych-folk transmission. “Tie Up the Tides” features guitarist/singer/organist Anna Fox Rochinski on lead vocals, “walking down this road alone,” as she puts it, pondering metaphysics as she tries to find her way in the universe. “I’ll point my way back home until my fingertips turn blue,” she sings over a tightly jutting guitar line. “There is no me and there is no you.”

Stream the elliptical tune above and find Quilt’s tour dates below. Pre-orders for Held in Splendor, which is out January 28 via Mexican Summer, are now available through iTunes.
