Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes have snuck out a free mixtape dubbed The Abstract & the Dragon. Befitting the pair’s rich respective lineages — Tip with A Tribe Called Quest, and Busta having gotten his start with Leaders of the New School — the 28-track set spans two decades, from 1992’s boom-bap classic “Scenario” to their November team-up with Kanye West and Lil Wayne, “Thank You.” Watch the video for that latter selection above, and stream/download The Abstract & the Dragon below. Down there in the mix, you’ll find Missy Elliott, Raekwon, Talid Kweli, Redman, and others. In related news, Q-Tip is supposedly working with Rick Rubin to produce a 2014 follow-up to Yeezus, which happens to be SPIN’s album of the year.
