While Lady Gaga rides out her first massive wave of superstardom, work is already being done on her next album, says RedOne, the producer behind much of The Fame and The Fame Monster -- and the new music will be controversial.
"It's going to be shocking, shocking, shocking!" the producer tells Billboard. "You never want to go too far from your brand -- people love you for a reason. But we still want to give them something with a kick, something that makes them say, 'Oh my God! We didn't expect this!'"
RedOne says he's completed two new songs for Gaga, and says they'll both be "massive."
"We try to take the sound and make it bigger and more interesting every time," explains the producer, who's also currently writing songs with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, among others. "And every time and era has its sound; you always want to be the first to jump on it."
He declined to be more specific, but Gaga already took the wraps off one new song, called "You and I," during a July 9 appearance in Rockefeller Plaza on the Today show, and at Lollapalooza earlier this month. Watch the Today performance below.
