Prince will rule The Arsenio Hall Show next week. His Royal Purpleness is set to take over the recently renewed talk show on Wednesday, March 5. The “Breakfast Can Wait” charmer will be the episode’s only guest, so expect him to play several songs and sit down with Arsenio to discuss his plans for 2014. It’s not yet clear if there will be pancakes or relationship advice, à la Prince’s Super Bowl Sunday guest-spot on Fox’s New Girl.
Of course, Prince being Prince, he didn’t make the announcement via mere press release. No, Prince needsto send a “letter-bearing clone” to deliver his messages on-camera. As seen in the video above, Lady-Prince dropped off an envelope with Arsenio, who read the message to a studio audience. “The Arsenio Hall Show has always been so welcoming to us in the past, and we wanted to return that favor,” Hall reads in the clip.
The Purple One’s decree promises a performance “you will never forget,” adding, “Just in case you haven’t heard, I’ve been practicing and I’ve gotten pretty good now.” Prince has gotten pretty good — for proof, watch him murder Purple Rain opener “Let’s Go Crazy” at a Manchester concert from earlier this month.
