Pop Montreal 2008 Reveals Lineup

The Pop Montreal festival has announced the initial lot of bands who will set up camp in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for its 2008 city-wide takeover. Venues throughout the region will host sets by a bevy of acts including legendary pop songwriter extraordinaire Burt Bacharach, Aussie jack-of-all-trades Nick Cave, and reunited punks Wire, along with indie favorites like Hot Chip, Black Kids, Crystal Castles, and Dan Deacon.

Pop Montreal 2008 runs from Oct. 1-5 in various set-ups ranging from big stages to bars and back rooms. Tickets are on sale now with an early bird special running through the end of August. Additional act announcements will follow as the celebration nears, so stay tuned to SPIN.com.
