Pete Doherty’s Plane Searched

Pete Doherty was detained earlier today in Barcelona, Spain, after a syringe was found in the toilet of an EasyJet flight from London on which Babyshambles had been passengers. Police searched the plane as it sat on the runway, a spokesperson for the airline told NME.com, and the captain of the flight from London called ahead to ask police to meet the plane at Barcelona’s El Prat airport. Doherty and his band Babyshambles, who were en route to play the Primavera Sound Festival, will be banned from flying with EasyJet again.

It’s not the first time Doherty has had trouble with bringing drugs on an aircraft. A source close to the band told Spin.com that Doherty was detained in Norway for carrying drugs on a flight. “Apparently [Pete’s] ex-manager James told him you could take small amounts of drugs on planes, like they’d overlook ten quid of smack for the trip,” the source said.
