Perry Farrell, Cursive’s Tim Kasher Judge ‘Hot Pursuit’

Attention musicians! Are you the next undiscovered act poised for a breakout? Well, if so, join in the Hot Pursuit, an online challenge launched by Spin magazine and Music Nation, seeking to uncover up-and-coming artists. The competition, judged by seminal rocker and Satellite Party mouthpiece Perry Farrell, Cursive and the Good Life frontman Tim Kasher, and Doug Brod, editor of Spin magazine, will offer one talented winner a joint record deal with Epic and Music Nation’s label, Original Signal Recordings, as well as a spot on the bill at Spin‘s much-mooted 2008 SXSW party and song inclusion on a forthcoming 2K Sports video game, among other prizes.

To enter the Hot Pursuit, head over to spin.com/thecompetition and upload video performances and MP3 recordings of your songs, as well as photos and other multimedia, and stay tuned to SPIN.com for important updates. Voting kicks off Sept. 24, and over eight preliminary weeks both the aforementioned panel of judges and the public will whittle the pool of contestants down gradually — quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals — until only a lone victor remains. Will you be the subject of Spin‘s Hot Pursuit?
