There’s no denying it: the “People” love Katy Perry. The “Wide Awake” singer hasn’t released a proper studio album since 2010’s Teenage Dream, but the California Gurl took home four trophies at the People’s Choice Awards last night (January 9), more than any other musician. Perry collected awards for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Music Video (“Part of Me”), and Favorite Music Fan Following (the KatyCats). Last year’s broadcast was also loaded with wins for Katy — in 2012, she took home Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Tour Headliner, Favorite Song of the Year (“E.T.”), Favorite Music Video (“Last Friday Night”), and Favorite TV Guest Star (for an appearance on How I Met Your Mother).

As for other ladies who won big at the 39th Annual People’s Choice Awards: Nicki Minaj earned a statuette for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, Rihanna found love in the Favorite R&B Artist category for the second year in a row, and Taylor Swift was dubbed Favorite Country Artist for the third year running. Maroon 5 locked up Favorite Band for the second consecutive year, while Jason Mraz claimed Favorite Male Artist in an upset since overshadowed by that other awards show’s news.

The rest of the music awards were split between U.K. boy bands: Favorite Breakout Artist went to The Wanted, while Favorite Song and Favorite Album were bestowed upon One Direction, for “What Makes You Beautiful” and Up All Night, respectively.

Christina Aguilera lost Favorite Celebrity Judge to Demi Lovato, but the Lotus star took the stage to sing “Blank Page” and receive the “People’s Voice” honor, in recognition of the pop diva’s “outstanding achievements in the music industry.” Alicia Keys came up short in the Favorite R&B Artist race, but got some screen time for live renditions of “Girl on Fire” and “New Day.” Country star Jason Aldean, who was bested by Ms. Swift, also performed.
