With 80 days to go until Pearl Jam release their 10th album, Lightning Bolt, the band now has its own app for iPhones and iPads. If you’re an obsessive fan, it’s a must-have addition to your Apple device of choice.
The app doesn’t offer any exclusive new material with the purchase, but it’ll get you access to the band’s Ten Club Radio, tour dates, merch shop, the band’s charities of choice, and a timeline that examines their career milestones. There’s also a bonus pack that features background photos for your device, plus digital versions of the official Pearl Jam lighter and concert candle. That’ll run you 99 cents, unless you’re a member of the Ten Club.
“This is a big and active year for the band in terms of album and touring. We wanted to bring all the best features on pearljam.com and the band’s Ten Club to fans via their mobile devices so they weren’t bound to their computers to reap all the benefits,” Ten Club manager Tim Bierman said in a statement. “The app was created to serve all Pearl Jam fans, but it also allows our official Ten Club members to log into their membership accounts on-the-go.”
Meanwhile, Lightning Bolt is due out October 15 and the band will tour North America — including a stop at New Orleans’ Voodoo Fest — around its release. Check out the album’s first single, “Mind Your Manners,” below.
