Seattle grunge stalwarts Pearl Jam have just announced a Spring tour in continued support of their chart-topping (and SPIN-praised) album Backspacer.

EdVed and Co. will hit 11 cities throughout the Midwest and East Coast, kicking off in Kansas City and ending with two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden May 20-21.

The September SPIN-cover stars (who scored Artist of the Year and Album of the Year titles in SPIN’s 2009 Readers’ Poll) are also on deck to perform on this week’s Saturday Night Live!

Opening the bulk of the tour will be Band of Horses, who are readying their third album, Infinite Arms, for a May 18 release date. Blues-rockers the Black Keys (whose new album Brothers will also be out on May 18) will replace Band of Horses to open Peal Jam’s May 20 show in NYC.

Tickets for PJ’s U.S. tour go on sale March 19.
