Paul McCartney continues his take-over of the talk show circuit. After a recent traffic-stopping performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, McCartney stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on October 7 for three songs and an interview. Macca performed a pair of New tunes — the tirelessly chipper title track from his upcoming 16th solo album, along with the LP’s swaggering “Save Us” — and dusted off the Beatles’ 1968 “Lady Madonna” with the Roots.

McCartney also sat down with host Jimmy Fallon for a lengthy chat in which he took credit for inventing the selfie, explained how he picks his set lists, detailed his songwriting techniques, and talked about working with a slew of producers, including Mark Ronson, Paul Epworth (Adele) and Ethan Johns (Laura Marling). Macca and Fallon also played around a bit backstage, trying on each other’s accents. Watch “New” above and catch “Save Us” and “Lady Madonna” below. Scroll further to see the voice-throwing gag, plus highlights from McCartney’s talk with Fallon.

New arrives in the U.S. on October 15 and in the U.K. on October 14. Pre-orders for the supposedly moombahtoon-informed LP are currently available via iTunes.
