Watch Paul McCartney, Johnny Depp, and a Bunch of Bluesmen Jam It Out

Paul McCartney Johnny Depp Jam Video Blues

This is one of the things that you get to do if you’re Johnny Depp: pull up a chair and play guitar in a sitting circle with living music deity Paul McCartney and a whole bunch of genuine Southern bluesmen, whose art form is nothing less than the foundational stuff of pretty much all popular Western music… for 30 whole minutes. Fine, 29 minutes and 53 seconds. Still, quite the accomplishment. Why is this happening, exactly? Well, as Rolling Stone reports, one result of director Vincent Haycock’s July video for Macca’s “Early Days” was this jam session. The clip included a Depp cameo and followed a pair of musicians in the ’50s, doing there thing. Except while they only went through the motions, the dudes gathered above are truly doing it (though, in Los Angeles). The roll call: Roy Gaines, Al Williams, Dale Atkins, Henree Harris, Motown Maurice, Lil Poochie and Misha Lindes. See them work their way through some old standards above.
