Papercuts returned this month with Life Among the Savages, the full-length follow-up to 2011’s Fading Parade. Now, the recording project of San Francisco singer/songwriter/producer Jason Quever has birthed a music video for the new LP’s lush title track. The clip maintains an intimate, homemade feel — fitting, since Quever directed the piece himself — by pairing dimly lit shots of domestic life with footage of a day spent at the zoo. (Life among the savages, indeed.) Occasionally, the camera drifts to an empty seashore just before sunset, giving the hazy, baroque-pop track the kind of dreamy visual button it deserves. Watch the video above, and scroll down for Papercuts’ tour dates — Quever is kicking off a string of performances in San Diego tonight.
