From the Georgian outfit's 'After the Dream You Are Awake' LP, due May 14

Dream-pop drifters Pacific UV may sound beach-ready, but the Athens, Georgia foursome's approach feels much more akin to what's happening in the ionosphere. Case in point: new single "24 Frames," an M83-indebted space-symphony that fuses a zero-gravity bass line and cratering percussion to wobbly synths. When numbed-out vocalist Clay Jordan sings, "After the dream you are awake / In some kind of strange life / Someone to hold the hands of time," this intergalactic swooner sounds like some lost transmission from Spiritualized's Jason Pierce. Pacific UV's next album, After the Dream You Are Awake, arrives on May 14 via Mazarine Records. Strap in and stream "24 Frames" below.
