OVLOV is the project of Connecticut fuzz-champion Steve Hartlett, who has led a rotating lineup of supporting players since 2008. Now, Hartlett has a solid roster — his brothers Theo and Jon handle drums and bass — and a full-length debut, the plainly titled Am, set for a summer release. In advance of said LP’s July 2 drop date, the speed-sludge unit have unleashed “Nü Pünk,” a surging onslaught of slam dance rhythms and wah-wah guitar wails. OVLOV’s first album is on the way via Exploding in Sound Records, but could’ve just as easily come from SST, back in its late-’80s glory days.

Pre-orders of Am are currently available here.
