OutKast will headline this year's Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City. A representative with the festival confirmed the news to Rolling Stone, who note that the upcoming gig will be the reunited hip-hop duo's first performance in the Big Apple in more than a decade. The announcement also marks the second major 2014 festival booking for OutKast, who, on January 8, were revealed to be one of the top-billed acts at Coachella this year, alongside Arcade Fire and Muse.
Organizers for Governors Ball have yet to name the other headliners for the three-day showcase, which runs from June 6 through 8 and takes place at Randall's Island Park in NYC. But, promoters seem to be teasing the roster with hints over social media. Check out the event's Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts to find said clues. The full lineup for Governors Ball is expected to be made public next week. Tickets are also supposed to go on sale next week.
Last year, Governors Ball featured performances by Kanye West, Guns N' Roses, Kings of Leon, Kendrick Lamar, the xx, Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, and Japandroids. Relive the 2013 installment by checking out The 15 Best Things We Saw.
