Oasis’ Noel Gallagher: “I’ve written a couple ‘Bond’ theme tunes”

Oasis’ ever prolific songwriter Noel Gallagher certainly won’t let a psychopathic Canadian fan slow him down and is already setting his sights on yet another venture: A Bond theme song.

Pulling from a vast “backlog of thirty-odd songs,” some of which are outtakes from Oasis’ forthcoming album, Dig Out Your Soul, the elder Gallagher claims he’d love to submit a track for the next Bond film and hopes to reclaim the esteemed authorship for his native England: “It’s a bit of a piss-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be sound tracked by a bunch of fucking Americans,” he told NME.com, referring to Jack White and Alicia Keys’ screaming and moaning duet for the time-honored series’ new installation, Quantum of Solace.

“They haven’t got very Bond-esque titles,” he explains of his tracks befitting the role. “I would have to tailor the title accordingly. The latest one that I wrote, I listened back to it thinking, ‘fucking hell man! That’d make a fucking great Bond theme.’ But it’s called ‘Freaky Teeth.’ Now, unless there’s a James Bond film that comes out in the next 10 years that’s very, very psychedelic…”
