In SPIN’s interview with Oasis’ Noel Gallagher back in October, the singer-songwriter stated that “the only thing I’ve got left to try to do is a solo album.”Flash forward two months: Noel is still mulling the possibility of striking out on his own — and encouraging his brother Liam to consider it too.

In an interview with BBC’s Radio 1 [via NME.com], Noel said that he already has solo material in the pipeline. “There are songs that have just fallen by the wayside that are still great but have missed their moment… at the end of this tour, I’d like everyone to do something separately.”

Specifically, he means his cantankerous, John Lennon-loving brother, Liam, who, according to Noel, is “always the first person to start rushing things. I think if he wants to get back in the saddle that quick, he should do it for himself. He’s got tons and tons of songs.”
