Ice Cube gave a fans a sneak peek of the trailer for Straight Outta Compton in Sydney late last year, but now the official, red band trailer for the N.W.A. biopic is finally here for your high-quality viewing pleasure. The trailer opens with a slick, black and white short about the film’s subjects — Dr. Dre and Ice Cube — revisiting their old stomping grounds and talking about their work with current Compton rappers the Game and Kendrick Lamar. After discussing their work’s relevance to the problems of today, the proper trailer launches, and it’s full of music, action, activism and plenty of chants to “fuck tha police.” O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Marcus Callenderas are natural fits as Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, and the movie as a whole looks pretty dope.
