Finally (no, really, finally!) No Doubt have announced that their first record in 11 years, which, as SPIN has reported previously, is slated for a September 25 release (via Interscope), has a name. The comeback record will be called Push and Shove — which is almost what fans have resorted to to get the band to finish this thing already.

In the announcement, posted on their official website, the band detailed a few more specifics:

  • The first single off Push and Shove will be titled "Settle Down" (which we'd like to imagine is a response to our rather impatient gallery) and will drop July 16 (no word as to what kind of release, physical or digital, free or paid).
  • "Settle Down" will also come with a video treatment, to be dropped "in early July," that'll be directed by vet No Doubt video director Sophie Muller (for an idea of what "Settle Down" will look like, check out her work on the clips for "Don't Speak" and "Underneath it All").
  • More details will come via a second "webisode" (the album's release date was announced via the first), which is "on its way," as well as via the band's Twitter feed and/or Facebook page.

For a quick refresher on what the band has been doing since their comeback tour in 2009, we've crafted a handy, albeit erratic, timeline. And you can see what the band was doing in the studio thanks to all those Twitpics that we helpfully compiled for you.
