NIN, QOTSA team up for North American Tour

Two bands with recognizable initials will be together for a thirty-date tour this fall. After Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age wrap up their respective European tours, they will kick off their U.S. shows in San Diego. More eastern shows will be announced in the coming months. Both NIN and QOTSA have released new albums in recent months on Interscope Records. QOTSA lead singer Josh Homme was recently in the news for reasons other than the rock: he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges. Homme was in trouble with the law for a punch he threw at Dwarves’ singer Blag Dahlia during a backstage fracas last November; Homme was required to complete a 36-hour anger management class as a result. Maybe the notoriously hard-rocking Homme will come back from anger management playing an acoustic guitar and writing songs about kittens.

Update, 6/15: Los Angeles rock outfit Autolux has been added as an opening act for the NIN/QOTSA tour. Autolux had a breakout performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in May, and recently opened for the Raveonettes’ coast-to-coast tour.
