Nicky Da B's Family Needs Help Paying for His Funeral

Following Nicky Da B’s shocking death at age 24, the New Orleans artist’s DJ and manager Rusty Lazer is calling on his fans and friends to help pay for the bounce rapper’s funeral.

“Times are tough. If you have a little bit to spare, nickydab’s mom is accepting donations for funeral expenses on Paypal. Send it as a gift to [email protected]. Please reblog this as well,” Lazer wrote on Tumblr. “Thank you all for the massive amount of love and support. It’s really sustaining all of us right now.”

Nicky, a Louisiana native who collaborated with Diplo on “Express Yourself,” died after a brief illness, but the specific ailment hasn’t been disclosed, according to The Times-Picayune. Following in the footsteps of local artists like Big Freedia and Katey Red, he was one of the bounce genre’s best-known names, helping bring the gender-bending, beat-heavy musical style to worldwide attention.
