New Tours: Tokyo Police Club, the Pretenders

Fresh off of a jaunt opening for power-pop titans Weezer, Canadian post-punk quartet Tokyo Police Club are gearing up a North American tour kicking off February 24 in Providence, RI. The boys will hit major cities along the East Coast and Midwest before concluding March 19 in Pontiac, MI. A who’s who of indie rock’s finest will accompany the band on the road, including Born Ruffians, Ra Ra Riot, and the Harlem Shakes.

After releasing this year’s triumphant return to form, Break Up the Concrete (stream the entire album below), Chrissie Hynde and her Pretenders are ready to embark on their first headlining tour in six years. The 31-date trek begins January 29 in Albany, NY, and will stop all across the U.S. before capping March 14 in Reno, NV. Opening acts have yet to be confirmed, but don’t get me wrong — seeing the Pretenders live is enough of a treat as it is.
