Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has returned. Bespectacled folk rocker Elvis Perkins, that is.

Perkins and his band, Dearland, are preparing to drop the follow-up to their 2007 debut Ash Wednesday.

Elvis Perkins in Dearland, recorded in late 2008 in Upstate, NY, with producer Chris Shaw (Public Enemy, Bob Dylan), will arrive March 10 via XL. But fans don't have to wait to hear the first track off the album -- SPIN.com has a stream of "Shampoo" (below), which includes organ, acoustic guitar, and poignant lyrics: "Black is the color of a strangled rainbow / Just the color of my lung."

"This album is faster and younger than Ash Wednesday," Perkins says. "Being in a studio with three other creatives instead of just one was a new thing for me... this kind of interplay made for much good."
