Recently reunited Britpunk icons the Sex Pistols may not be recording a new album at present, but that doesn't mean it's out of the question for next year [via NME.com].

Glen Matlock, original bassist for the band, recently set the record straight. "The Sex Pistols? We've done our bit this year," he told The Quietus. "We'll meet again in the new year and see what we want to do."

"We were not recording a new album," Matlock explained of false reports from 2008. "But you can never say never."

Matlock also articulated the Catch-22 that the Sex Pistols would face with a new release: "We all got ideas between us. It's a double-edged sword if you do it not good as the original, and if you don't do it people want to know why -- but it's up to us. We are the masters of our own destiny."
