New Mission of Burma Album Nears Completion

News

Post punk fans nearly exploded from joy when Mission of Burma reunited after an almost 20-year hiatus to release 2004's Onoffon, and now the Mission is almost done working on an Onoffon follow-up. Guitarist Roger Miller told Pitchforkmedia.com that the band finished mixing the as-yet-untitled album, which is slated for a Spring 2006 release. "We recorded 15 songs, more than required for a 12-song album," Miller said. "So we don't know what songs will be included or what the order will be." Roger Miller just finished up playing a few dates with side projects the Alloy Orchestra and Text of Light, which includes Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo.
