New Found Glory vs. Lionel Richie

New Found Glory have issued an open letter to adult contemporary icon Lionel Richie, sassily lamenting with him about the fact that both of their new albums have the same title, Coming Home (NFG's drops Sept. 19; Lionel's arrives one week later). "Congrats this week on the release of your new CD Coming Home -- what an awesome title! Sounds familiar though, where did we hear that before? Oh yeah, it's the name of our new CD which drops Tues. Sept. 19," the band wrote in a note addressed to "Nicole's Dad. The pop-punkers went on to threaten to name their next project Dancing on the Ceiling (Richie's 1986 album), and to fill it with "such original punk rock songs" as "Say You Say Me" (off Dancing on the Ceiling) and "All Night Long" (off 1983's Can't Slow Down). "Our new single and video is 'It's Not Your Fault,'" the band said in conclusion. "Hey...we haven't heard your song yet...Send us a copy."
