Nelly Furtado Goes ‘Crazy’

During an airing of Jo Whiley’s show on BBC Radio, Nelly Furtado sang a folksy, unplugged version of Gnarls Barkley’s funky chart-topper, “Crazy.” The live performance finds the Portuguese-Canadian songstress whimsically transforming Cee-Lo/Danger Mouse’s electro-charged single about going mad into an airy ditty accompanied by only an acoustic guitar, delicate handclaps, and a buttery-voiced backup singer. Furtado’s breathy croon evokes a melancholy yearning, making her version much less eccentric than the duo’s original, but still just as soulful.
