This summer, Brooklyn-based quintet the National are taking their anthemic indie rock around the globe -- and the band says the extensive, five-month itinerary is still growing.

The international trek will support the National's first record in three years, High Violet (out May 11), and will kick off May 5 in London and land stateside May 21 in Los Angeles. From there, the Cincinnati natives will criss-cross the country, hit Sasquatch, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza, then return to Europe, and then head back to the ol' U.S.A. before closing out September 11 in Redmond, WA.

Along the way, they'll share the stage with Beach House, Rufus Wainwright, Ramona Falls, the Walkmen, Okkervil River, and many more. And there's more dates in the works: "[The band will] continue to add more shows through the rest of this year," explains a band newsletter.

Helllooo, frequent flyer miles.

When SPIN reviewed the National's first-ever live performance of High Violet material back in March, the boys recruited a half-dozen extra musicians to flesh out the tunes, including a horn section and extra percussionists and keyboardists.

So act fast to score tickets -- many dates, like New York's Radio City Music Hall (June 16), are already sold out. For ticket info, visit the National's website. And stay tuned as the band announces more concerts throughout 2010.
